Regardless of whether the device is powered on, in standby mode, or completely turned off, the NLJD will locate it by detecting the materials used in the electronics.
How does it work? The EDD-24XT emits focused directional signals, and when these high-frequency signals pass over silicon, which is used in all semiconductor electronics, they generate a strong 2nd harmonic frequency. Other materials, like bi-metals or oxidized metals, can respond with a 3rd harmonic signal. TThe EDD-24XT transmits signals at 2.4 GHz and picks up reflected signals at 4.8 GHz for second harmonics or 7.2 GHz for third harmonics.
Even the smallest piece of silicon, such as a NANO SIM card, can be detected by the EDD-24XT
from a distance of up to 20 cm.
The detected signal strength is displayed on a bar graph on the 3.5-inch Color TFT Daylight Readable display, categorized as either silicon or metal, allowing for quick assessment.
The EDD-24XT also offers
audio feedback for detected signals, which can be heard through the internal speaker or the supplied earphones. In Audible Tone mode, the device emits a tone corresponding to a 2nd harmonic detection, with the pitch changing based on signal strength, allowing sweeps without needing to look at the display. In
Demodulation mode, you can also listen to the demodulated signal from the 2nd harmonic receiver.
To provide you with maximum use, the EDD-24XT NLJD features an adjustable aluminum extension pole that can be set from 30 cm to 140 cm, enabling you to reach any hard to reach or high places, while the adjustable head offers five positions over a 90-degree angle, ensuring easier viewing of the screen.
