LawMate 4K DVRs Firmware Update Extends Recording Time of each Recording from One to Five Minutes
The
PV-RC400 UW,
PV-DY40UWW, and
PV-DY40UW 4K DVRs from LawMate can now be enhanced with a new firmware that extends the duration of each recording from 1 minute to 5 minutes. This new feature is particularly advantageous for monitoring longer activities. For instance, reviewing recordings to detect suspicious actions will now be more efficient, as fewer individual clips need to be checked. Additionally, when using motion detection mode, the device will capture longer segments of activity, providing more comprehensive details about movements and events occurring in front of it, ultimately enhancing the overall user experience.
If you own one of LawMate 4K DVRs and want to extend duration of each recording on your device all you have to do is to follow the instructions down below.
Instructions for Installing the Firmware:
- Download the firmware file from the attachment down below.
- Copy the firmware file to a preformatted memory card.
- Insert the memory card into the device and turn it on.
- The blue LED will blink while the update is in progress.
- The device will automatically turn off once the update is complete.
- Eject the SD card from the device and format it.
- Insert the formatted SD card back into the device.
- Each recording on your device will now last up to 5 minutes.
If you're considering installing this firmware, be aware that extended recording times may cause overheating and place higher demands on the device's battery and heat management. Exercise caution after installation. For extensive use, the standard 1-minute recording time is generally recommended.
In case of expiriencing any issues with the device after installing the 5-minute firmware, please refer to the following instructions to restore the 1-minute recording settings.
Instructions for restoring the Factory Firmware:
- Download the firmware file from the attachment down below.
- Copy the firmware file to a preformatted memory card.
- Insert the memory card into the device and turn it on.
- The blue LED will blink while the update is in progress.
- The device will automatically turn off once the update is complete.
- Eject the SD card from the device and format it.
- Insert the formatted SD card back into the device.
- Each recording on your device will now last up to 1 minute.
